Our Mission

MISSION: 

At WHOM International we believe that every woman and girl has the right to quality healthcare and autonomy over her own health no matter her circumstances. It is our mission to provide quality health education and medical care, as well as coordination of health services, to women who are at vulnerable times in their lives through an extensive network of local contacts.

We care for women and girls on the move, refugees and asylum seekers, homeless women, and women with limited or no access to healthcare services for whatever reason. 

VISION:

Our vision for WHOM is to grow our mission through the two main components of education and medical care. We aim to nurture a community of dedicated staff coordinators.

Education 

We provide evidence-based education on a regular basis in group settings. Education topics are well-researched and prepared by our medical staff. They are presented by our volunteers who have a medical background and interest in caring for this vulnerable population. Finally, we aim to develop a training program for women to receive education on women’s healthcare issues. 

Medical Care

We aim to provide healthcare including cancer screenings, vaccinations, and family planning. We can assist with a variety of services either directly or through our connections to medical NGOs or through national healthcare systems. We provide guidance on which NGO might be best for their particular concern, or instruct them on how to access and navigate the national healthcare system in their respective country.
